Reclaimed Tile Mosaic Stepping Stones

I love the idea of turning 'trash' into beautiful functional pieces.  I bought a bunch of extra and broken tiles at the Restore in Purcellville (benefits Habitat for Humanity - extra bonus!) and took a hammer to them.  Then I got some 12x12 molds, mixed up some Quickcrete mortar and made these stepping stones.  Not bad for my first attempt!

More to come with these since the whole idea started when I had a little accident with the well head in our driveway a couple weeks ago ... my husband and I are working on a little art installation around the well head so the well head (and cars in our driveway) stay safe and to pretty up our place.  We've got some iron (or steel - can't tell yet) decorative rods, lots more tile and a bit of talent between the two of us ... we'll see where it leads!
